1. What happens before this extract?
Yeito-botorr visits the Kaelos and joins Mama Milanoi and her daughters in the kitchen.She praises them to be diligent pair and Mama Milanoi takes the credit. Resian suddenly says that she has no problems acquiring skills but not doing it to please men who she refers to as lazy bunch of busybodies.

2. Comment on any two stylistic devices used in the extract.
Dialogue- There is dialogue between Mama Milanoi, Yeiyo-botorr, Resian and Taiyo.
Idiomatic expression-As we burn our fingers. Meaning as they are cooking.


3. Explain any issue brought about in this extract.
Male chauvinism. Resians outburst is as a result of the male that she calls lazy who orders them around simply because they are male.

4. What is the character of Yeiyoo- Botorr from this extract?
She is tactful- She immediately reacts to Resian’s comments and calls Mama Milanoi to come along with to tell her what ails her daughter.

5. From elsewhere in this text how does Olarinkoi contribute to the plot development of the novel?
Olarinkoi later deceives Resian that he is taking her to Emakererei but instead kidnaps. He attempts raping her, to forcibly marry and circumcise her but Resian is rescued by Naburu and escapes to Minik’s ranch.
