The independence of the judiciary is guaranteed by the following:Functions of the judiciary:The judiciary performs the following functions: -Arbitrates in disputes between the federal government and the states.-Administers justice by listening to parties in dispute.-Interprets the constitution and in the process makes new laws. -Advises the Executive and Legislature on constitutional issues if sought for.-Protects the fundamental rights of the citizens which are guaranteed by the constitution.
