Answer Text: Functions of Government of India.Like the USA, India has a federal system of government. Consequently, power is shared out between the Union Government and the State governments which are in charge of the Union territories. The Union Government performs the following functions: -Supervises the working of State governments.-Has powers to declare war, raise and maintain the armed forces.-Conducts diplomacy and authorizes treaties with foreign countries. -Regulates trade and trade affairs with foreign countries.-Takes charge of matters pertaining to national security.
