Answer Text: The President in India.The Office of the President though important is largely ceremonial.Functions of the President:-Has powers to make regulations for certain Union territories.-Appoints the Chief Minister and Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital territory of Delhi and the Governors of the states or Union territories.-Establishes special councils to arbitrate on inter-state disputes.-Nominates the twelve members of the Council of States.-He is a member of the Legislature.
