Some people who were with Jesus told him that Pilate had killed some Galileans because they were worshiping God and offering sacrifice. Pilate had been against the Galileans and also the temple of Jerusalem because he had demanded money from temple treasury but in vain.
Jesus told them that they were not worse sinners than them.
Jesus informed the audience of the eighteen people who were in Siloam when the tower fell on them.
He pointed out that this never meant that they were worse. Here Jesus needed to show that we are all sinners but the important thing is to repent our sins.
