Forms of leisure and their uses
There are two main types of leisure.
-Passive Leisure
-Active leisure.
Passive Leisure
This is where physical activity is minimal. Such activities include watching movies, television, playing computer games, reading
novels, magazines and newspapers, listening to music and resting.
-While passive leisure is good, it may lead to idleness and encourage laziness.
-Research has shown that young people who engage in passive leisure are overweight and perform poorly in school.
-If this trend is allowed to go on it may kill the creativity in children and young people.
-Young people should choose passive leisure activities that improve their knowledge and teach them appropriate moral, social and cultural values.
-They should not watch or read materials that promote
violence and sexual immorality.
