Jesus also warned his disciples that the city of Jerusalem will be surrounded by enemies.
He warned the people to flee from it when they saw invading armies.
Although Jerusalem was fortified to provide refuge and security, this could not make Jerusalem to escape the conquest by her enemies.
Therefore Jerusalem will be destroyed.
