Answer Text: Jerusalem was an important place in the mission of Jesus. Jerusalem had a prominent status as a holy city of God, it is where the temple was located hence a religious centre. So even during the times of Jesus it remained a major centre of worship.Jerusalem is the place where he was going to fulfill God’s plan of salvation. Jesus had already predicted the kind of suffering he was going to face in Jerusalem (LK :9:31,51 13:3135,18:31-34) Jesus had conflicts with the religious leaders and he knew that he would face opposition in Jerusalem. Jesus’ mission in Jerusalem ultimately led to his death.
