Jesus cleanses the temple (Luke 19:45-49).
After weeping over Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple and protested against the buying and selling that was going on there.
He began to drive out those who were selling in the temple saying, “my house shall be a house of prayer but you have made it a den of robbers.”
This was a quotation from Jeremiah 7:11. This was not the real purpose of the temple.
This prevented the Jews from being a light to the gentiles.
This action made Jesus to be in a conflict with the religious leaders and were more determined to have him killed.
