Answer Text:
Christian approaches to industrial action or strikes.
-Industrial action or strikes are efforts by workers to stop work in protest in order to pressurize for higher wages or better working conditions.
-Strikes may take several forms, for example, go slow, sit ins, downing tools, and
violent or peaceful demonstrations.
-Christians recommend peaceful co-existence among employers and employees even in settling disputes.
-Employers should not mistreat their employees but should be governed by biblical principles of love, fairness and justice.
-Employers should open communication channels with their employees and be humane when dealing with them.
-Employees should not revenge or destroy property but should seek peaceful solutions to their problems.
-The Church as the conscience of the nation should continue encouraging and promoting efforts by the government, informal and private sectors in enhancing better working conditions for workers.
-The Church should also enhance justice and fair play in her own institutions as an employer.
