Jesus teaching on prayers and reasons why Christians pray
Answer Text: Prayer is a conversation we have with our God. Prayer can be offered by an individual or a group of people. Why do Christians pray? - To give thanks to God for His many blessings and His many gifts to us e.g protection and life. - To ask God to continue blessing us. - To ask God for forgiveness.- To give them strength to overcome temptations.-To request for God’s protection.- Christians can pray for others who may not have the chance to pray for themselves at a particular time like the sick or those travelling.-One day, Jesus was at prayer being watched by his disciples. Jesus had finished praying when his disciples asked him to teach them how to pray.He told them, “When you pray, say: Our Father who at in heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, Give us our daily bread, Forgive us our sins,as we forgive those who sin against us, - Lead us not into temptations, but deliver us from evil” This is what has been referred to as the Lord’s Prayer.
