Crime as a Social disorder.
- A crime can be defined as an anti-social action that disturbs the orderly, stable and peaceful society and is punishable by law.
- An action becomes a crime when it interferes with the rights of other people.
- Examples of crimes committed by people are:
(i) Loud music being played at night in residential areas.
(ii) Driving while drunk.
(iii) Sexual immoralities such as rape.
(iv) Stealing.
(v) Robbery with violence.
(vi) Misappropriation and embezzlement of public funds.
(vii) Land grabbing.
(viii) Murder.
(ix) Carjacking.
(x) Terrorism.
