Divorce
Divorce is one of the major consequences of irresponsible sexual behavior. It is the legal dissolution of marriage. In traditional African communities, divorce is rare or even unknown amongst some people. Temporary separation may be allowed instead of divorce as it is
hoped that the couple will reconcile later. However, in contemporary society there are many cases of divorce among couples. It is mainly caused by:
-Unfaithfulness in marriage.
-Extreme poverty.
-Domestic violence.
Misuse of family resources.
-Childlessness.
-Interference from in-laws and members of the extended family.
-Religious differences between the spouses.
-Abuse of drugs and alcohol.
