Why Jesus faced opposition from the Pharisees and the scribes
Answer Text: - He claimed to have the ability to forgive sins which the Pharisees and the scribes considered as blasphemy. - On several occasions he healed on the Sabbath. His disciples also plucked grains on the Sabbath which the Pharisees viewed as work - That his disciples did not fast like the disciples of John the Baptist. - Because of the miracles that Jesus performed, his reputation continued to grow and many people followed him to have their sicknesses cured. - He mixed and ate with sinners and tax collectors. - Jesus called them hypocrites for they put the law before the well being of human beings.- That Jesus called himself the Messiah (son of God) that was promised in the Old Testament.
