Healing of demon-possessed man, the Gerasene demoniac (LK.8:26-39) After calming of the storm, Jesus and His disciples crossed to the eastern side of the lake to a gentile town of Gerasa. As soon as he and his disciples landed, they were met by a demon-possessed man who was very violent. The man wore no clothes and lived in caves used to burry dead people. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down and said in a loud voice, “What have you to do with me, son of the Most High God?”. He also told Jesus not to torment him. When Jesus asked him his name, he said “Legion” meaning many. The demons begged not to be destroyed and asked Jesus to be sent to the grazing herd of pigs and Jesus told them to leave. According to the Jews the pigs were considered as unclean. When the demons left the man, they entered into the pigs which drowned into the lake. Those who had been looking after the pigs saw what had happened and ran off and spread the news in the town.......
