Reaction rates and reversible reactions questions and answers

A dynamic equilibrium between dichromate and chromate ions is established as shown in the equation
below:
#Cr_2O_7^(2-)(aq)+2OH^(-) (aq) overset(rightarrow)(leftarrow) 2 CrO_4^( 2-) (aq)+H_2O(I)#
(a) What is meant by dynamic equilibrium?
(b) State and explain the observation that would be made if a few pellets of potassium hydroxide are added to the
equilibrium mixture.

Answer Text:
(a) - Reaction where the rates of forward and backward reaction are the same.
(b)- The mixture become green. The equilibrium position shift to the right since more hydroxide ions have been added reducing the concentration of dichromate.
