Determining equations of straight lines

-Equations of a straight line can be determined:
1. When given two points through which the line passes.
2. When given one point through which the line passes through and the gradient of the line.
-The standard form of writing the equation of a straight line is y =mx + c, where m and c are constants
Example 1. Find the equation of the line through the points A (1, 3) and B (2, 8)
Example 2 Determine the equation of a line with gradient 3, passing through the point (1, 5).
