Describe the process of electing the speaker of the national assembly.

-One qualifies to be elected the speaker if he is eligible to contest and vote in elections.
-A date is set for the election at the start of a new parliament after the general election.
-The candidate is proposed and seconded by members of parliament.
-If more than one name is presented, the members vote through secret ballot.
-Swearing in ceremony is then conducted for the elected speaker.
-If the speaker is an elected MP then his or her seat is declared vacant.
