Answer Text:
-Africans were forced to reserves to give way for settlers farming in the fertile highlands.
-Reserves were situated away from urban centres and communication lines cut to ensure African products did not reach the market
-The squatter system where Africans were only allowed to reside on settler farms to supply labour in return for a
small portion of land farming.
-Recruitment of labourers on Europeans farms and issuance of the kipande ensured that Africans worked for Europeans.
-Pastoralism was outlawed because it was seen as wasteful.
