The government has been encouraging the use of local appropriate technology in the country.Outline five ways this policy may help to reduce unemployment problem in Kenya.

-Size: since it is geared to small scale enterprises, therefore it is in line with government policy of encouraging self-employment.
-Cost: since it is cheap and affordable to a large section of the unemployed, the youth could therefore be provided with credit facilities to start and expand their own business.
-Local appropriate technology. Utilizes local personal unlike foreign technologies which utilizes expatriates. This leads to employment
-Saves on foreign exchange which can be invested in the economy to create economic opportunities.
-Simplicity: since the technology is easily learnt, understood and adopted therefore many people can adopt it for income generating activities hence alleviating unemployment problem
