Figure 2 shows a round bottomed flask containing a coloured liquid. The flak is fitted with the capillary tube.

It is observed that on holding the flask with bare hands the
level of the liquid in the capillary tube initially drops slightly and then rises. Explain this observation.

Answer Text:
- The initial fall of the level of the liquid is due to expansion of the glass flask which gets warmed first. The liquid starts expanding when heat
finally reaches it and it rises up the tube.
