Explain the problems associated with the indirect rule system of government.
Answer Text: -It could not be applied where centralized government was absent.-Language was a problem leading to the need for interpreter.-Education of chiefs was necessary but took long time and needed patience and fulfilled knowledge which many Britons lacked.-The chiefs appointed in stateless societies lacked natural basis and therefore suspicion and lack of confidence resulted.-Different administration had different views on the degree of indirect rule to be applied making it difficult to draw a difference between advisory and supervisory role of colonial powers.-Inexperienced British official interfered too much with the vital customs, practices and taboos among the Asante.
