Answer Text: -Wanted Kenya as a source of raw materials-To prevent colonization of the country by other countries-Wanted to expand her empire for imperial glory/prestige.-Britain was responding to request from missionaries and other British nationals for protection.-The need to get access to Uganda and control the sources of river Nile, the livelihood of Egypt.-Wanted to control trade on the coast-British wanted Kenya as an outlet for surplus capital investment.
